Keller's Bakery is just as great under its new ownership! Thank goodness! We just stopped by yesterday for breakfast on the way to O.C., and it was a fantastic start to our day. Another Yelper noted that the new ownership wasn't friendly, but that wasn't my experience at all. They were busy, but pleasant. I've been going to Keller's for close to 40 years. The marshmallow buns are, by far, my favorites. I challenge you to find anything like them elsewhere (and if you do, please send me the address!). The other doughnuts and pastries are also delicious. Try the jelly turnovers. They're addictive. I'm looking forward to trying all my Keller's favorites, to see how the new owners do. (But first, I'll go buy some new stretchy pants.)

My co-workers brings them in our office from time to time and I LOVE them. They're DELICIOUS. I tried the donuts and the raspberry danish. YUMMY. I don't live near Linthicum so I eat when I can!!! I'm not a fan of the other donuts with jellys or marshmallows in them but my co-workers LOVE them.

Anyone who says Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, 7-11, Giant, or Safeway, has better donuts than Keller's Bakery......is a FULL TIME STUPID FUCK!!!! Not part time.....FULL TIME!!!! They do it the old school way, and that is the best way. In 10 years, I haven't had a donut from there that has sucked, and I don't think they will let it happen. They are a legit BAKERY....and not a doughnut shop. Maybe that is why some of you stupid fucks get it wrong. My wife and I love their Honey Dipped, Cinnamon, and their Coconut Donut.

I've only been to Keller's twice before the ownership change, thus if the recipe's changed it wouldn't stand out to me. My third trip was on a Sunday morning. They had one young lady working the counter and even thou the shop had a few customers, she wasn't too busy to hold a conversation. I came just to get one glazed donut and ended up with a few donuts and this petite raspberry filled pastry that another customer highly recommended. Everything was delicious. I heard another customer doubtfully ask if they had coffee...they do. The coffee question made me ponder why isn't the coffee in a more prominent location and why aren't they asking customers if they want coffee as well. The donuts and pastries are great but this place could be so much more. This shop is shabby without the chic, maybe they should rename it Shabby Sweets. The size of space is not bad, but it's dingy and cluttered with no seats. Yes, I believe there is enough room for seats. I love the notion of there being a neighborhood donut shop other than the big name chain, but sometimes I want to sit, sip, surf and nibble.

I loved this place and patronized it for nearly 50 years. The new owners have definitely lost something in trying to replicate the original Keller's recipes. One of my favorites was the chocolate cake dough donuts. By no means is the chocolate frosting as good as Keller's was. Jelly pies not as good either. There seems to be a great inconsistency in products.

What happened. First time back since the new ownership. I like the fact they sell some drinks, sodas and juices but the donuts. They are much smaller than the originals, and they taste totally different. Inconsistent dough.....Why buy a business if you are not going to have the same great taste. I guess Tom took his secrets with him or even worse the recipe is just not followed. Take it from guy who bought donuts here for 15 plus years, they are not the same. New owners take my advice slow it down, stick to the original size and recipe and just maybe I will return one day. I wish you luck and want you to do well... Sad face....

While the doughnuts are good, the customer service is so terrible that I will forgo the food. The owners and managers are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered and treat customers terribly. The shift workers they hire are equally surly. Although this is in my hometown, I refuse to patronize a shop with such blatantly awful service.

Went to Kellers for first time since new ownership it was so nice to be greeted with a smiling face They were busy but very friendly with everyone the donuts tasted the same marshmallow cream is the best I've had another review said they were not friendly but I did not experience that at all I have had some of my neighbors say they have been since the new owners took over and the donuts were fresh and it was nice to be greeted by someone friendly and pleasant keep up the good work new owners you have my business

I've been on a quest to find the perfect donut in the Baltimore area and have tried all the mom and pop shops. I have to say that Keller's Bakery is overrated. It is located in a strip mall and has a small time mom and pop shop feel. I wanted to love these donuts but they were a little tough in my opinion. A dozen will cost $10.20 and I got almost every variety and tried it. The donut itself was made of the same dough for all the doughnuts and it was really heavy and dense. Not like the airy and fluffy soft variety I like from Carlson's Donut or Arundel Donut. The vanilla custard and even the fruit jelly were under whelming. I'm a little disappointed. But I guess now I can say I've tried their doughnuts. Back to my Carlson's Donut in Odenton. :)

Overall, very good donuts with a decent selection. We got 4 glazed, a marshmallow, and a jelly donut. Came out to $5.10. Cash only, BTW. Not sure if it's a Maryland thing... But why do donut bakeries not offer Pigs in a Blanket?! Will be back to try others, the ones that we got were delicious!

Donuts here are the best (and filling, unlike DD donuts) but don't expect any bells or whistles. Bakery needs an update or some decorations at least, but I doubt this bakery will ever get the face lift it deserves. No credit cards or checks accepted so be prepared with cash. Also, the staff has probably never heard of the term "customer service" which is fine, as long as you're used to it. It's like a dive bar, but for donuts. Missing one star for the lack of customer service, but I'd still eat a donut from Keller's over DD any day!

Keller's Bakery has good doughnuts, let me start off by saying that. They are soft and taste much better than any you are likely to get at any major chain. My wife is a sucker for their jelly pies, small jam-filled pastries that seem to be one of their major sellers (I find them unique but a little dry.) Unfortunately, no love or attention seems to be being paid to the business side of things. The bakery itself lacks decoration and has so much unused space I always wonder if I've caught them in the middle of a going out of business sale. Also, they have no variety or imagination when it comes to their products. They do offer a variety of doughnuts and pastries, but only those doughnuts and pastries. The styles and offerings never change. For instance, they have a purple-sprinkled doughnut, I suppose to appeal to Ravens fans. Why not one with orange sprinkles, considering it's baseball season and the Orioles are doing quite well? Most telling, I ordered a cup of coffee the last time I was there. It was served with powdered creamer, because why would a bakery keep actual milk and cream on hand?

Fantastic raised donuts! I highly recommend the chocolate topped and the cinnamon. Also, this place is cheap--about $10 for a dozen donuts. Note that you do need to bring cash. Staff politeness is hit or miss, but I don't really care.

During a layover at BWI airport, I caught the rail to Keller's which is a short walk from one of the stops. I was led to the bakery due to its location and Yelp reviews. I arrived about an hour before closing so I was not expecting anything fresh out of the oven. I tried three doughnuts, a raspberry filled, a glazed, and a marshmallow filled doughnut. I have to say that the doughnuts were good not great. My favorite was the jelly filled doughnut and my least favorite was the marshmallow filled doughnut. Although a broke a cardinal rule by ordering an ingredient I don't really like, but the marshmallow doughnut looked so inviting. I will try them again in the future but only if I can get there when they first open and the doughnuts are fresh. The staff was nice and courteous which is always a plus when distinguishing between where to grab a quick breakfast treat.

We get our doughnut fix at work from Kellers Bakery. This is the real deal, real bakers making the goods by hand, god bless em. The dough is fresh and literally melts in your mouth. the selection is basic but very good. the glazed are my favorite. They don't last long at meetings so you better grab two.. I just wish they would stay open a little later.. Two big thumbs up for Kellers Bakery!

Decent donuts. I've had better/similar at a grocery store.

Nobody makes a marshmallow donut like theirs. Not that sugar crime filling but real marshmallow. Their other donuts are great also.

just took a quick visit here again when a friend was in town. Still the best raised donuts around in my opinion. Main reason for me is the dough. most places that sell raised donuts tend to have doughs that are airy and light. Keller's dough is a little more substantial ... it has more of a chew to it, which I personally like. There are many flavors here, and my favorite is chocolate with coconut. They also sell marshmallow donuts and jelly pies here, but I personally stick with their regular donuts. They also have cakes and bread too I think. I hope this place stays around for a while longer!

Ok, so if there were a doughnut competition, it would be between Kellers and Carlsons (on 170). Wow... There really should be a competition where they put their best doughnuts against one another so we can crown a winner. Kellers is a more dense doughnut which can be a desirable attribute depending on your taste. Carlsons is a little fluffier. Both are great places, but I think I like Carlson's better for the doughnuts, but Kellers has the jelly pockets. Sooo.... Why not have the best of both worlds and alternate? It may create or refine a superior doughnut palate.

    4.0 / 5 - Donuts

Sorry guys but while Kellers is better than grocery stores, Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Creme - I have had better. The donuts at Kellers tend to be on the dense, heavy side and some are way too sweet. Pasteries could use more filling as well. If you want light, not overly sweet donuts this is NOT the place. CARLSON'S on Telegraph Rd in Severn is the best place ever for donuts. Kellers rates second place since they are better than most others.

The only place to go for donuts... ever. Particular favorites: marshmallow and their jelly tarts!

  • Brad B.

very old school. location looked like it was from the 60s and was little changed. bunch of real bakers in the back (not machines like a Krispy Kreme) but the selection up front was actually pretty limited. Not your fancy, frou-frou selection of designer donuts - again, this is pretty much the same box of donuts that your dad would have taken to the office 20 years ago. Brought a dozen into the office and they were gone quickly.

Do any of you out there have a grandmother that ruled the house with an iron fist? But you kept going back because she made such good pasteries? THAT IS KELLER'S The selection is limited...doughnuts and tarts....and it looks like they do cakes too but when you go in their store...you wonder if they were about to close the doors for good. The place is very unassuming...almost looks like you walked into their kitchen at home. Clean ...but looks like a busy kitchen....however THE FOOD IS GREAT. Everything is hand made...no cookie cutter perfect doughnuts or pasteries here...you can almost see their finger indentations in the tarts as they sealed the edges. You will not find any better doughnuts or tarts for a very long ways away. The crust in the tarts are melt in your mouth tender...not hard like a biscuit..but light and just plain good. The doughnuts are also light and tender....you could eat a half a dozen without even knowing what happened... Great doughnuts...Still run by the family....real mom and daughter store. Don't make the mistake of asking for special requests. We had special occasion where we wanted blue doughnuts for a party. THEY WOUNDN'T DO IT....so i took my order for 10 dozen doughnuts to the Safeway bakery...and they happily did it. It's their way to bake or don't bother them. Which is just fine...they really know how to bake here. Just don't deviate from their norm.... If you are in the area for crabcakes.....G&M, Olive Grove, or Snyders. or whatever in this area..you have to stop by before 2 pm...and get yourself an extremely pleasant treat......

We have gone to Kellers a about ten times. The cashier is a older woman who has the personality of a snail! Doesnt know how to count a dozen either! The chocolate cake donuts are getting smaller and smaller, Literally !!!! The quality has gone down hill for sure! The little pastries are the best, but the sizes are like buy a bushel of crabs all mixed. Terrible, it would not cost much more to make those donuts bigger. All the others are, but those cake donuts are small, tiny! check out Hermans Bakery, all the way over Dundalk, but so worth the drive. Their donuts are out of this world and the marshmallow, cant even compare to Kellers. They have cakes and anything else you could possibly want.

A co-worker brought some Keller's doughnuts in to share one morning last week and they were literally gone in about 15 minutes (I'm not even going to say how many I ate!). The glazed ones were my favorite. They were on the large side and light and sweet. A fantastic sugar high.

If you wanted to turn back time because you are just tired of the mass produced junk available at convenient franchises all over then go and try their hand-crafted donuts. Some things are better made by hand and these folks know what they are doing!

definitely. as good as it gets. kellers is INCREDIBLE. The boston creme doughnut is light, but not too fluffy, creamy but not oily, it melts... and our family favorite for 2 generations, the small jelly pie. perfection. can't say enough about this place, they do it RIGHT.
